A bright future.

We’ve big plans for the future of Chichester Men’s Shed. We’re delighted to call a great spot on the Fishbourne Playing Field home and, having gained planning permission, have agreed terms with the Trustees for a lease.

We organise fundraising events and field trips within the community and the local area. We’ll visit places of interest and other sheds nearby, expanding our community and getting to know other Shedders, far and wide.

Phase One:
The Cuckoo Shed

Completion of our renovation project of The Cuckoo Shed represents a gigantic milestone in our journey here at The Fishbourne Centre. Formerly a disused cricket pavilion, we took on the building in a state of some disrepair with a leaky roof, no power and an empty shell with no real space to work.

Now all finished and ready to be put to use, our Shedders have worked tirelessly with tremendous effort and commitment to create a place in which we socialise, drink tea, make plans and have fun.

Phase Two:
We’re Expanding

Since finding our home at The Fishbourne Centre, our committee worked with both the council and Centre management to gain planning permission for the addition of further space to the rear of The Cuckoo Shed. With permissions granted, we took delivery of two brand new buildings towards the end of 2023 and have called them the Magpie and Swallow sheds.

The Magpie shed has been insulated, painted and work benches have been installed and is being used by members to work on projects for the community.

The Swallow shed (Our Largest one) is being insulated and will then be fitted out as our second workshop. We expect to complete this in Q2 2025.
